AI, Jobs and the New World of ‘Work’

On his podcast Today In Tech, host Keith Shaw features LinkedIn’s Chief Economic Opportunity Officer, Aneesh Raman, in what I believe is the most insightful, practical conversation (to date) on the impact of AI on work and jobs. They argue that while AI will automate many tasks, it will create new opportunities centered around human skills like collaboration and innovation. Raman predicts a shift from a job-title-based economy to a skills-based one, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. The conversation also touches on the evolving roles of education and the changing nature of career paths, advocating for a more human-centric approach to work. Finally, they suggest that individuals should focus on developing uniquely human skills to thrive in this changing landscape.
